Experience the mangrove tunnels/canals on the east side of the island, an untouched area of Roatan. These waterways lead to lagoons and the sea with abundant wildlife. Pirates cut out these waterways centuries ago to harbor their ships and plan attacks on passerby vessels attempting to avoid bad weather. French Harbour, Jonesville, and Oakridge are a few of the beach side communties you will visit and explore.

The Garifuna People, natives originally from West Africa have kept their traditions and language. At the Garifuna Village, you will experience Garifuna People's way of life and hear their music and watch their traditional dances. A sense of the "real" Roatan when choosing this attraction as part of your private island tour. This attraction includes the Iguana Farm, Mangrove Canals, and Garifuna Village mentioned above.

Did you know? The island was formerly known as Ruatan and Rattan. It is believed the island was infested with rats when the first European settlers landed. Christopher Columbus on his fourth voyage visited the Bay Islands between the years 1502-1504.
