Carambola Botanical Garden & Trails

The Carambola Botanical Gardens and Nature Trails are located in Sandy Bay, Roatan, Honduras. This tour attraction provides over 40 acres of beautiful flora gardens and dense jungle trails. A photographer’s heaven, you will encounter wildlife the way nature intended it to be. This eco-friendly tour is perfect for a relaxed stroll or hike, with many trails, bridges, and creeks.

The botanical gardens and many jungle trails found here are perfect for hiking, wildlife, and scenic photography. Orchids, medicine plants, and exotic spices are just a few things you will get to see and learn about. The Honduran Mahogany Tree and the well known Chocolate Tree can be found here as well. 

For the more adventurous, take a small hike to the summit of Carambola Mountain. There you will have the opportunity to experience incredible panoramic views of the second largest reef in the world. But before you get there, your journey will lead you through the tropical rainforest and a sheer cliff known as the “Iguana Wall”, where it has historically protected the iguana species and provided breeding grounds for parrots.
