You Don’t Have To Book With The Cruise Line To Be Safe
Every excursion on this page is covered by our Back to Ship Guarantee. Your itinerary is built around your ship’s published all-aboard time for that day, with a buffer of at least one hour — and in 13 years and more than 24,000 guests, the guarantee has never been invoked. Not once.
Getting Around From Isla Tropicale
Isla Tropicale sits about three miles east of Coxen Hole, which makes it the closer of Roatán’s two cruise ports for most of the island — and the farther one from West Bay. Drive times on every card above are measured from this pier. Your driver meets you just outside the cruise center; there is no need to arrange a taxi.
Not sure which pier your ship uses? Carnival, Princess, Holland America and Costa dock at Isla Tropicale; most other lines dock at Port of Roatán in Coxen Hole. Check the 2026–2027 Isla Tropicale schedule for your sailing date.
Make Your Roatán Port Day Count
Book direct with the island’s local operator — no cruise-line markup. Every itinerary is built to return you to the pier at least one hour before all-aboard.
Isla Tropicale Excursion FAQ
How far are these excursions from the Isla Tropicale cruise port?
Between nothing at all and about 35 minutes. The zipline, the ATV safari and the horseback ride all run on the cruise center grounds. Mayan Eden is 10–15 minutes, Daniel Johnson’s Monkey & Sloth Hangout about 15, Little French Key, AJ’s and the dolphin programmes about 20, and West Bay Beach resorts such as Infinity Bay 30–35 minutes. Every card on this page shows its own drive time from this pier.
Will I get back to my ship on time?
Yes. Every itinerary is built around your ship’s published all-aboard time for that day, with a buffer of at least one hour, and you can ask for an earlier return whenever you like. In 13 years and more than 24,000 guests, our Back to Ship Guarantee has never been invoked.
Do I have to book through the cruise line?
No. We are an independent Roatán operator and you can book any excursion on this page directly with us. Booking direct means no cruise-line markup, and the Back to Ship Guarantee applies either way.
Which monkey and sloth park is which?
Three different parks on Roatán get called “the sloth sanctuary” — Daniel Johnson’s Monkey & Sloth Hangout, AJ’s Monkeys & Sloths, and Mayan Eden Eco Park. They are not the same place and they are not the same distance from this pier, so always check which one a tour actually visits before you book. All three are listed by name on this page.
Is my ship at Isla Tropicale or Port of Roatán?
Roatán has two cruise ports. Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Costa, P&O, Cunard and AIDA use Isla Tropicale, formerly Mahogany Bay. Most other lines use Port of Roatán in Coxen Hole, about three miles west. Our 2026–2027 schedules list every ship by date for both ports.
What does the Starting at price mean?
It is the lowest published price for that excursion — usually the child or basic-package rate. The exact price depends on the package you choose and the ages in your party, and the full breakdown is shown on each excursion page before you pay.
