The Gumbalimba Park is the largest animal park on Roatan, with over 20 acres of beautiful botanical gardens, jungle canopy, and beach shoreline. Travelers are free to roam the grounds on their own or join in a guided tour with one of the park guide’s. The kids are surely to enjoy the pirate theme cave (museum) where they will learn some of the island’s history. At the lower level, guests have access to the pool, Gecko Cafe, and beach activity center. If you are a thrill seeker, make sure to add-on the Monkey Trail Canopy Zipline to your park admission. You can easily spend the entire day at Gumbalimba Park before returning to port for departure.

Daniel’s Monkey & Sloth Hangout has gained popularity in recent years. This is due in part to their awesome service and close proximity to the Little French Key. The animal park is smaller than most, but the park guides make up for any short falls you may expect. The park has a small shoreline with views of the Caribbean to the south. A one-spot snorkel tour is also offered from this location and can be purchased as an add-on to the park admission during booking. To avoid crowds, it’s best you visit first thing in the morning when they open or early afternoon. If you purchase the Little French Key Combo, it’s recommended you visit the animal park first and spend the rest of the day at LFK before returning to port for departure.

How To Choose A Roatan Animal Park?
Most cruise ship passengers prefer an animal park close to their port of call. However, others prefer an animal park that offers multiple activities or is closer to other island attractions. So, how do you choose an animal park? Well, if you are looking for an excursion solely for the animal encounter, I would pick the closest animal park to your port. The experience may vary slightly, but not enough to merit a 40 minutes drive across the island. Hopefully, our Top 5 Roatan Animal Park’s information will help you decide what Roatan animal park excursion to book.
